Across Germany

Germany is just waiting to be discovered by us and so we go west, sometimes east, sometimes north. Where there are friends, there are nice reunions and besides also great campgrounds and we perform again as testers of them. We come to areas that we have not seen and experienced yet. We ride in the federal states of Hesse, NRW, Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony-Anhalt, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Thuringia.

Why seek far afield when the good is so close: we spend two days with Elke and Johannes in their area on the mountain bike and in their house.

Contrary to our principles, we now also use the train. The regional public transport is uncomplicated and cheap, carries our bikes and takes one or the other detour and changeover, so that we get new insights of Germany.

While we have been on the road, Philipp welcomed the first ‘Warmshowers’ guests at our home. They used the campground, got shower and espresso in the morning. (‘Warmshowers’ is a worldwide organization for the accommodation of hospitable cyclists.)
