On the Transalpina through the South Carpathians

That was the most beautiful stage! The heart is bouncing. And also with our fully packed travel bikes over 100 km a full enjoyment. Always climb up. The higher you get the more beautiful and breathtaking the views. Up to 2145 metres. The higher you get, the clearer and cooler the air becomes. Beautiful as the Pyrenees! And then the gentle, seemingly endless descent with few counter-climbs. All this on best asphalt with few motorcycles and cars, all of which just want to enjoy the panorama. Gorgeous!

Snowfields. The road was only opened for this year’s season just before our trip.
Pass 2145 metres reached. We drove the steep driveway from the south. (As on the Col de Tourmalet.)
Only 30km/h is allowed on the entire route.
