Where are the Elks?

300,000 elks live in Sweden, many in the area we passed through with our non-motorized bikes, on small, partly unpaved paths: Östergotland, Smaland and Hallands. Always look into the deep forests and the still largely untouched wilderness. Elks have no enemies here in South Sweden. Nevertheless, we have not seen a single one:- (.

There are 30,000 islands in Sweden and so there we had ferry transport again. The ferry is part of the road and costs nothing.

Smaland is called ‘small country’ and is what most people imagine among Sweden … we believe. It is as we know it from the stories of Astrid Lindgren, the farms with the wooden houses in Swedish red. Exactly as we know it from the neighboring garden of Doris and Herwig. It’s beautiful.

Camping on the Baltic Sea, where the birds have just gathered for the flight to the warm South or at one of the magnificent lakes.
