Lviv in the Ukraine

Actually we wanted to cycle over from Romania, but experienced motorhome drivers held us back: Crossing the border is too complicated and time-consuming.

Therefore we arrived after transit via Eastern Hungary :-(, Slovakia with a visit of the beautiful city Kosice and the scenic eastern bypass of the High Tatras, purely to Poland, where we felt to be back in Germany: sooo normal.

2 days transit through Hungary: + lots of bike paths. – people were very closed and dismissive to us and sanitary facilities on the campsites are the worst of the trip so far.
Once again a Schengen border – free pass
Breakfast at the tourist info, which were closed during opening hours
Kosice – Ice Hockey World Cup 2019
High Tatras – smallest high mountains in the world (highest elevation 2655m)
Former border crossing from Slovakia to Poland

Yesterday across the border into Ukraine. No problem for us cyclists from the EU :-). Motorists and cross-border commuters have already been put to the test of patience. Truck drivers are in their fate anyway.

And here we really have two days to see everything in Lviv, a city with 730,000 inhabitants, many great buildings, squares, cafes, bars and markets.

Cafes are available everywhere in big and small
Tram, O-bus, all ages, always well occupied
Lviv is known for its coffee and chocolate culture
Vareniki – Specialty of the city
Male chicks are not killed here
… and the empties are returned
Tomorrow we’ll get back on the bike
