Relaxing at the Mediterranean Sea in France

This morning we spontaneously decided to spend one last day here in France just before the border to Spain, with the tent in the front row, between us and the sea with white sand only a few dunes, in the outback the Pyrenees. Do nothing for a day.

Since April we are now for the second time at the Mediterranean Sea, have taken the detour via Sweden :-).

On the EuroVelo 8, which runs from Athens to Cadiz: the signage leaves some to be desired.

No passage: unload the bikes, carry them as well as the whole luggage :-(. What do people in wheel chairs ?

Instead of bicycle garages, there are boat garages here.

In Sete we stayed at St Georges Hostel & Café. If you ever come up with the idea to go to the South of France or even to Sete, we can only recommend this house to you. And don’t forget to have breakfast there! In the middle of the city with a French ambience and enchanting music. Our bikes have stayed there as stylishly as they are safe.

We were unlucky in Nimes. The famous bridge of Nimes is not located in Nimes, but between Avignon and Nimes. When we noticed it, we had passed it already. Into the arena, which was build in the first !!! century after Christ, we were not allowed to park the bikes with luggage near the entrance. And the three bike shops are closed on Mondays. Désolé!

In the Carmarque we met the white horses, bulls and flamingos.

At the time of blogging this, we sit with our French neighbours under the awning of their van with a glass of wine. They invited us because it was sneezed outside.
