… the ferry trip from Tallinn with the Baltic Queen. In the evening at 6 on the ship, beautiful view of Tallinn from deck 10. Shopping, restaurants, bars and disco, like on a cruise ship. Looking at people was a lot of fun.
… looking outside when I opened my eyes at 6.45am: Sweden through the bull’s-eye.
… our unique experience at the hairdresser’s Salong Hanna with the two sisters, great women! When we will come back to Stockholm sometime, we will go there definetely, whether the hair needs it or not.
… the royal Stockholm with ‘our Silvia’, who was probably still in the summer seat with her entire extended family. Queen Silvia is a german. King Carl Gustaf felt in love when he saw her at the Olympic Games in Munic in 1972 where she was employed as hostess.
… our ride through Stockholm. Already on the bike path we were approached: where from? where to?
… the funny Swedish language. You go to the supermarket and say ‘Hej’ or ‘Hej, hej’ (don’t say anything, is not appropriate). At the checkout you say ‘tack’ and ‘hej da’. Done! Swedish has a bit of German, English and Dutch. At least the written language we understand to a certain point amuses us because of the spelling. When talking, we do not understand much.
… to the award of the Nobel Prize, which takes place here every year. Especially that of Bob Dylan last year, which Patty Smith accepted for him. We have seen the popular building.
… our two evenings we spent at Marcus’ home. Marcus is a friend of mine. I studied with him and we both did an internship at the Behringwerke 34 years ago. He has lived in Stockholm for 22 years. We had a great time together with delicious food prepared and cooked by him. We are sure that will not wait additional 30 years until we will meet again.
